A Conversation for Doctor Who Fiction
Enigma part 7.
Raspy Started conversation Jan 15, 2003
On a giant floating platform above the wastelands of Kanderaan Rasputaltron, The Master, The Rani, Davros and the Meddling Monk watched the shards of crystal being connected together.
"Your sure this will work?" The Master asked from behind him.
"Of course I'm sure." Rasputaltron snapped. "Besides where is the Black Guardian?"
"He didn't want to be a part of this, he said he had other things to do." The Monk said.
Rasputaltron nodded, he didn't really care, the Black Guardian only wanted the Doctor out of the way and had refused his offer to become part of his new galaxy.
Professor Kane approached. "Sir, the machine is ready, all lives are in place."
"Activate." Rasputaltron ordered with a smile.
As Kane worked at the controls Mhscca brought Romana across to stand with him.
"Watch now my dear, the end of the old time and the beginning of a new!" he hissed at the time lady.
From the giant orb the shards had been formed to make a giant bolt of energy shot out and into the sky. the energy ribbon shot into space, from the platform they could see time being manipulated tearing apart space and forming what appeared to be a large swirling portal.
"Get ready for the dawning of a new age!" Rasputaltron hissed as the sky turned red and his colleagues smiled up at their new tool of power.
Rasputaltron smiled at the completion of his plan and turned and Mhscca.
"Ready my personal ship and have the temporal transference device put aboard." he said an nodded at Romana. "Bring her along too."
"As you wish." Mhscca bowed and escorted Romana away to the ship on the platform.
Rasputaltron turned to the others. "Well, I think we should to create our new universe don't you?" he said.
"What about the Daleks and the Cybermen?" Davros asked.
"They stayed behind in the tower. I didn't trust them."
Davros smiled. "I was hoping you would say that." He pressed a detonator on his chair and the Semblance headquarters exploded.
"Who said you could do that!" the black skeleton hissed.
"As you said we could not trust them, my Davrites shall be our new army!" Davros ranted.
Rasputaltron nodded and turned away to the Master.
"How do you know there will be planets in there?" the Master asked.
"Well Professor Kane tells me that there will be an enormous explosion of matter and antimatter as the universe is created and those explosions will form thousands of planets."
"Excellent." The Master said as he followed Rasputaltron onto the ship shortly after the Rani, Davros and the Monk followed after them and the ship took off and flew into the portal.
They gazed out of the viewer and were amazed by the amount of planets that there device had created.
"Excellent it worked, signal the fleet and tell them to follow us in and prepare for colonisation!" Rasputaltron ordered Mhscca.
Mhscca gave the order over the communicator and from behind them the Semblance fleet rose up and followed them millions of warships and transports preparing for the new age.
Rasputaltron was glowing with pride (literally, it's a strange phenomena of Skellions).
"Mhssca, what are the readings from the new universe? Are any of the planets habitable yet?"
When there was no reply he turned to face his assistant, "Mhssca when I ask a question I expect- Mhssca why are you pointing a gun at me?"
"I am pointing a gun at you Rasputaltron because I want to kill you. Any idiot could work that one out"
"Now Mhssca" the black skeleton's voice was quivering. Suddenly he had a thought, "Where are the others?"
"Oh I think you'll find they've gone to ready their own warships"
"What?"
"We haven't been working for you you numskull" she laughed at her own joke, "Rather for a much higher power"
"B-b-b-but who?" he spluttered in outrage,
"An old friend, and he's on the screen behind you."
Rasputaltron turned to face the screen. Displayed on it was a very bruised, battered and heavily bandaged-
"Barok?!"
"Not Quite." Barok answered.
"I saw you die!" Rasputaltron exclaimed.
"As you can see I am not, but I am not the Barok you know, when Barok's body was destroyed I possessed him, I needed to find a body quickly because my last one had died."
"So who are you?"
"There are some who call me Enigma, partly because I have no existence in any time scale in any world or in any dimension." The creature said.
"And you want this universe to solve all those problems for you is that right?" Rasputaltron said.
"Correct, I shall shed this puny body and reveal my true form! Mhscca, Kill him!"
The Image faded away as Mhscca pointed her blaster at Rasputaltron. This is it, I'm finished! Rasputaltron thought. Then he had an idea, behind Mhscca was Romana, if he could get that control collar off she would probably help him, a long shot but it might work. He began signalling to her with his fingers signalling the numerical code for the collar, She was a bit confused at first but tapped the numbers into the collar and it fell to the ground, Mhscca heard it fall and turned around to shoot her but a quick backhand from Rasputaltron knocked her unconscious.
"Thank you." Rasputaltron said with a sigh of relief.
"What do we do now?" Romana asked.
"Well, we could always try and escape but since their warships are guarding the entrance to this universe that wouldn't work so well." Rasputaltron replied.
Romana thought for a few seconds and turned to the crystal orb. "We could set free the Doctors!" she said.
Rasputaltron went limp. "What! they would destroy me!" he screeched.
"You'll be destroyed anyway if you don't!" Romana said.
"Oh very well." Rasputaltron sighed and worked at the controls as the crystal shards began to glow and disassemble from the orb that they formed.
"Right, now smash them." he said.
Romana gave him an odd look. "Smash them?"
"Yes, the crystal imprisons them so if we smash it then they go free." Rasputaltron explained.
"I hope your right!" said Romana.
They threw the shards to the ground and one by one the Doctors and their companions materialised themselves in the ship around them.
"Oh well it certainly is good to be out of there isn't my boy, mm?" the first Doctor asked Steven and Dodo as he cricked his back and neck,
"You can say that again Doctor," Steven agreed.
"Doctor what's going on and who are these people?" Victoria asked the Doctor nervously,
"Well, it's very complicated you see but basically it's like this-"
And all across the room the Doctors were explaining the situation to their companions.
The Fifth (with the assistance of Peri, Mel and Ace) was attempting to stop Six and Seven from ringing each other's necks (whilst Seven kept repeating that he knew what was happening all along).
The Fourth and K9 had gone across to greet Romana whilst only Three and Jo had stopped to inquire who on Earth Rasputaltron was.
"I knew this was a bad idea" Rasputaltron told himself, "I knew-"
He stopped as he felt a blaster prod his back and the bleep of a safety catch being removed.
"Now without making any noise, get into the remaining ship" Mhssca hissed in his ear,
Once they were inside one of the smaller ships Rasputaltron turned to Mhssca,
"Look just where on Earth are we heading?"
"Enigma ordered us that we should take you to the epicentre of the new universe"
"Us?"
"Hadn't you realised?" Mhssca asked him with a hiss,
"Realised what?"
"This" she reached up to her hair and pulled on something," With a ripping sound a tear appeared down her front of her torso and several tiny grey men poured out.
"I'm a genetically created organic biobot"
"A what?"
"An organic robot designed to carry these around," she gestured to the tiny men, "Rasputaltron, meet Hugh, Dru, Barny, Magroo, Cuthbert, Dibble and Grub"
"Hi, Rasputaltron, pleased to meet you!"
"They are some of the most feared criminals in the cosmos."
"And they created you?" Rasputaltron asked in a quivering voice,
"No, Chekawowe did before his accident. I was designed as a permanent, living prison," she leaned in closer to the skeleton, "But he gave me too much attitude."
