24 - The Series

Groundbreaking 24 part series from America starring Kiefer Sutherland and Dennis Haysbert. The concept is more mind boggling than the plot. As in America all TV stations have adverts, the show was alloted 1hr on TV, but because of the adverts each episode ran for only 42 minutes. Leaving 18mins for adverts, so that it was billed for the full hour whilst lasting less.
Series 1:
Starting: 12am
A threat is made against a presidential candidate, and Jack Bauer is called into work, whilst trying to deal with his daughter who has snuck out of the house.
Series 2:
Starting: 8am
Jack Bauer is called back to CTU to deal with the threat of a nuclear bomb.
Series 3:
Starting: 1pm
When a body infected with a new type of virus is droppped off outside National Healths Services HQ. Jack Bauer finds a tie between this and an imprisoned drug dealer. Whilst trying to fight off demons of his own.
Series 4:
Having left CTU Jack now works for the Department of Defense, at a briefing at his old place of work Jack's new love (the Secretary of Defense's daughter Audrey) and her father are kidnapped, launching Jack into yet another action fuelled 24 hours.
Series 5:
After the events of eighteen months ago, Jack is living in exile, assumed dead and with a false name. However when the people who know of Jack's status start dying, he comes back to LA and subsequently CTU to investigate.

(I haven't actually seen this yet, but when the DVD comes out in November I will update this entry)
