Snipers in the woodwork and terrorists under the bed.

If we are not already afraid then the media wants to be sure that we are VERY AFRAID! The unspoken assumption seems to be that if we are not murdered by a sniper or blown up by a terrorist then we will live forever.
If I were a little more paranoid then I would walk backwards so that the bad guys can't sneak up on me.
Risk is inherent in a open society. Bad things happen to good people all the time. Perhaps if we stay in bed with the covers pulled over our heads then nothing good or bad will happen.
I choose to live inspite of the dangers, be thay real or imaginary. Death will take me soon enough. I will not lay down and wait.
