Poems of a recent break-up

I recently broke up with my girlfriend of 2 1/2 years, which may not be long to the oldies but is a substantial part of my 19 yr life. I asked the H2G2 community for help, and it is one of the wisest things I've done (admittedly I have never done many wise things.) I've had advice from a huge broad range of people, many who've been through much worse then me. One of these people is 'a girl called Ben' who recommended I read her poems from her 'situation'. I did, and was duly impressed, you can find her poetry here... "A Girl Called Ben".

Anyway, this poem was written at around the same time as 'Taken Away'. It departs from the whole ex events, which is significant as I thought I could only write about that. It is short, but not sweet, and I toyed with changing the name to 'Abstract'. But I didnt. this is definately the wierd one out of the lot

Reality Negative

Our lives,
Are spent in pursuit of abstract ideals.

Our loves,
Are matched to our abstract qualities.

Our futures,
Are based upon abstract concepts.

In light
Of this,
Deep down,
Are we real?

Here are my other two poems:

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
