Liquid? Don't make me laugh. (Well... you can if you want.)

Popular opinion dictates that glass is a liquid. This is obviously complete rubbish. It is like somebody saying, 'The world is round.' Why do people expect us to swallow nonsense like that, obvious observations which are obviously not what they obviously are? Obviously?

But glass is rather interesting. How is yellow opaque sand made into clear glass?

Maybe this is a question we are not meant to know. Otherwise we might start theorizing down dangerous philosophical paths, and may even do something stupid like find out the meaning of life.
