The Avocado is one of the most important fruits mankind has discovered. It has the ability to generate enought power to light a large city for ten years; it can act as a powerful stimulant, depressant or psychopharmeceutical drug; it makes a very tasty topping for a large variety of dishes.
This fruit is the planet's most important export, making it the core of the planetary economy. Many economists see the Avocado blight of 1929 being the cause of the Great Depression.
As a side note, primitive cultures obtaining Avocados have been known to worship it as a God, creating vast shrines, and building intricate rituals around its preservation and consumption.
