PaperBaby's First Trip, Part 1--Preparation
Created | Updated Sep 18, 2003
The basic itinerary of the trip can be found here. I suppose I could type it all out again, or even just copy-and-paste, but I do have stuff to do before we leave1...
Anyway, there's a lot more packing involved for three than for two--especially when the third is a baby! Looking at that sweet little face, who'd guess that one little baby would need more stuff than two adults3? Here's the list I made the other day of what we need to take for Faith, with asterixes next to those things that we adults are duplicsating in our suitcase for ourselves:
- Travel crib/playpen
- Diapers
- Wipes
- Clothes for 9 days*
- Baby tylenol
- Simethicone drops, for gas4
- Thermometer
- Seat5
- Toybar for seat
- Nursing pillow6
- Couple of toys
- Blankets*
- Cloth diapers for burp rags
- Nasal aspirator
*
- Baby wash/shampoo*
- And so on and so forth...
Anyway, I've done the grownup laundry, so all I have left to do is pack our stuff, do baby laundry, figure out how to fold up the playpen to its smallest size, do so, pack the baby's stuff, make sandwiches for the 14 hour7 first leg of the trip, help load the car, make sure we've not forgotten anything... At least I got this article done Though you, dear readers, may not be so happy about that...
