Webcomics
Ah, the arcane art of webcomics. Although there are many variations between this particular genre of comics, this article will focus on the free, good ones. Webcomics are, inexplicably, online comics. So, before the universe implodes:
The Comics
This list will comprise of four comics.
PvPonline
PvPonline is a webcomic by Scott Kurtz. It's updated daily and is viewable at www.pvponline.com. It's about the staff of the PvP magazine (a fictional magazine, it's only in the webcomic), including Cole, the manager; Brent, the artist; Francis, a reviewer; Skull, a troll; and others not currently included. This may sound uninteresting, but the lives of the staff are strange, and very amusing.
Sluggy Freelance
Sluggy Freelance is a webcomic by Peter Abrams, and is just shy of 5 years old at the time of this article. It is viewable at www.sluggy.com, and it is all about the very strange lives of Torg, a website designer; Riff, he doesn't really have a job, but he summons a lot of demons; Zoe, she works for Dr. Lorna's radio show; and assorted psychopathic animals. Just read and learn...
8-Bit Theater
8-Bit theater is a comic based on the characters of the Final Fantasy series. It's updated 3 days a week and is created by Brian Clevinger. It follows the sojourns into the strange fantasy world of Black Mage, the horribly evil wizard; Fighter, an insipidly stupid sword fanatic; Thief, an opportunistic and evil rogue; Red Mage, an annoyingly stat-obsessed jack of all trades; and some others I don't feel like including right now.
Penny Arcade
Penny Arcade is a comic about the lives of Tycho and Gabe, two game-obsessed freaks with a propensity for violence and making robots. It's made by Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins. The strip covers most of the important milestones in console and computer gaming, with Tycho and Gabe going to E3, crying over long load times and bugs, and all the other problems of the misunderstood gaming class...
This is all the article has to cover at this time. If you want more, get online and read some comics!
