Is the earth edge on to the galaxy

Living in Malaysia for now. Went to a great Island and for first time realised that the milky way is actually bloody big, but still fairly local. Anyway, standing there and looking almost straight up at this thing, it occurred to me that it appears as if I were looking at a hub cap with 2 hubs edge on. What was amazing was the cloud obstructing the stars behind it. Spectacular! By the way, food's great, especially the hokkien noodles near the pudu station cop shop. Good party life, amenities cool, women HOT! And beaches are extremely cool. Improving sense of nature and environment. I guess the pollution in KL is beginning to make a diff :D
