Laundry sundries, automobile cosmetics and conveniently packaged herboristic nightmares stand proudly side-by-side with Icees, Gatorade and the all-american favorite beef jerky as if they were siblings seperated at birth. One can find alcohol and tobacco within mere centimetres of analgesics and ginseng-based wonderdrugs to respectively deal with the former's aftermath and to curb the cravings for the latter.
The staff of these marvellous establishments will, despite the quite comprehensible and intelligent fear of robbery, murder and general impoliteness, mask their fundamental and irremovable loathing of their patrons long enough to relieve them of an inordinate amount of currency for the meager portions offered, and invariably leave them with the augury of a pleasant diurnal cycle... the lateness of the hour notwithstanding.
In summation, i believe that the convenience store, while horrifyingly misnamed, is undoubtedly a must-see to any travellers in the southern California area and, once experienced, a necessity that will last a lifetime.
