Hi Bob,
just a couple of errors/typos on first read:-
"the keep that stands today was the result of a result of the 1216 AD"
*the keep that stands today was the result of the 1216 AD*
----------------------------------------------------------------
This whole section is also way too long for one sentence.
The records indicate that by 1214 the castle was complete, however excavations indicate that a domus regis or 'king's house' was the first building on the site4 the keep that stands today was the result of a result of the 1216 AD, siege the damage was not repaired it resulted in the construction of the much stronger fortress.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
As John was king from April 6 1199 until October 19 1216 AD, there are rumours that John never stayed in the castle this is however unlikely as there are 12 recorded visits by the king between 1207 and 1216 AD. What stands today are the remains of an octagonal shell keep
You need to re-read this, grammar and punctuation is all over the place.
I'd suggest you re-read the whole article again and you'll see there are some glaringly obvious errors. It looks like you've copied/pasted a lot of notes together without any real formatting into a readable piece.

Very good article. I'd just re-write 'Carisbrook' to 'Carisbrooke' in the first footnote, adding perhaps a link to the article here: A311112 and a link to your own article A18154857 The Curtain Wall: A Castle's First Line Of Defence

There's still some minor errors here and there, and I'm bemused by the way you keep using 'AD' in an entry about a 13th Century building. Also, that first paragraph is a bit long, and could do with being split into two. Otherwise, not too bad.

There's also a Bodiam Castle - is there any link between the two, or is the name just a coincidence?

Hello its just a coincidence it is 80 miles south west the only connection is the M25 and the A21,
14th century 100 years war era. It is of the curtain wall type with accomadation in the Corner towers and inner ranges. Odiham was the shell keep style.
Good point though

Is it worth a general clarification note at the start of the entry? I don't know how famous Bodium is, but it certainly was a major visitor attraction....

Bodiam is by far the more famous castle, with the National Trust using it to sell tea towels etc.

Not to be confused with Bodiam Castle, a National trust property in Sussex. Bodiham is larger 14th century castle in an excellent state of preservation.
Will that do everyone
