What is a sport? Must blood flow or even sweat? Can we take synchronized swimming seriously when winning or loosing is based merely on the whim of a judge?
A sport must surely be something that an individual can take part in and be seen to succeed in be it against an opponent, a clock or tape measure. In fact the olympic idea.
The way thing are going the game of draughts (checkers over there) will soon be a sport! I contend that some of the more recent additions to the olympics should be scrapped and put in the circus where they belong. New events should not be added just because a large monied country happens to have cornered the market in it.
