Last time I went to the hairdresser (about March time) my hairdresser Suzanne straightened my hair using a "Good Hair Day Ceramic Straightening Iron" and it was brillianT! My hair went from wavy messs to poker straight but...

I don't know where I can buy one other than the internet (my parents don't let us order off the net) the other problem is I live in Scotland and there aren't many big stores so I was wondering...do you know any of the stores (like Boots or Joh n Lewis or anything) that sell them?

Hairdressers always seem to have a nack at knowing these thingssmiley - smiley

Well its good to know your own trade smiley - smiley

The best thing to do is go to your hairdresser and ask them where the nearest hairdressing suppliers is. they will sell you any professional hair products. if they dont have what you need then they can order it for you. no net required smiley - smiley

BUT just a word of warning, the price you will see in a suppliers will be without v.a.t so remember to add that on for your final price

hope that helped smiley - smileysmiley - hug

Thanks...I've actually got another question though, I've got quiet dark brown hair and I'm desperate to get bright pink streaks, but I don't fancy getting my hair bleached. Is there any other method?

the quick answer to that is no! there is not a way to get pink streaks without bleaching it.

i could give you the reason why but it would probably bore you. but basically you couldnt put pink pencil over the top of dark brown and it show up. its the same with hair. but be warned pink fades down very fast because it is not premenant colour :O)

oh and you live not that far from me so if you do get stuck there are 2 hairdressing suppliers in dundee xx hope that helps smiley - smiley

Think one of my friends mums is gonna see if they have any of the straighteners i told her about...if they do she'll tell me.

I know about hair mascara...can never seem to find BRIGHT pink though...what do you think about extenstions a girl I know had lilac ones put through her hair...seemed to work.

they are a good idea as long as you can afford the upkeep of them, extensions can be expensive. But i have to admit i
love extensions, i am desperate to have my hair braided with extensions.

but it worked out as costing me £350. What about trying some where like claires that does low cost ones that are attached to hair slides. mind they dont have the same effect smiley - smiley

I'll see what my hairdresser says, she gets very excited about trying new things, especially as my hair's so down right odd.

Mine's just so fussy and indesisive!

I can't blow dry it because it goes wirey, it has a really nice wavy curl to it, but frizzes, if I want to dye it at home I have to go darker or perminant because it's literally "just" dark brown...

the only bonus is it isn't greasy, it's got good body, so when I straighten it it doesn't go flat and it's long enough to do pretty much anything (it's shoulder length)

and I have a great hairdresser, she's always really adaptable and always gets excited with what I want to do, she doesn't let the wave in my hair stop me getting the do I want smiley - smiley

Mag Ratte

I'm trying to keep my hair long, but the hairdressers in my area don't seem to have a clue about how to handle hair longer than shoulder length - any ideas on how to tell them that I really do only want the split ends off - not the rest?

Also, why (after having told me off for washing my hair in hot water and generally overprocessing it (which I don't do) do some hairdressers think the best way to improve the texture of fine hair is to perm it? Surely that only makes it more prone to tangling and breakage?
