Fairies

Fairies, or faeries, spring up in thousands of myths or legends around the world. A hidden subculture, with magical powers that delight in exploiting humans. Fairies are deeply lodged in human's unconscious. Every young child hold an unshakable belief in the Little People, and ever Adult longs for those days to come again.
Attributes of Fairies
Firstly, there are many different types of fairy, if we are talking about magical creatures.
Dwarves, mining creatures, humanoid and about 4 feet in height.
Trolls, vaguely humanoid, but much bigger, trolls are thought to be cave-dwellers, or other such dark places (like under a bridge!) One school of thought says that trolls turn to stone in the sun.
Centaurs, with the body of a horse and the upper body, arms and head of a human.
Merpeople, who live in the sea, have the lower body or a large fish and the upper body of a human, the Mermaids are known to seduce sailors and turn them into mermen.
Goblins, smaller the humans, but evil in nature.
Pixies, like traditional fairies, but with no wings.
Traditional Fairies
There are many different accounts of fairies and it is nearly impossible to decipher the truth from mass of stories and lore, but here are some recurring themes:
They can fly, by the means of wings.
They are small, between ten centimeters high to on meter.
They have magic, such as healing, glamour and bewitchment (or mesmerizing)
They are mischievous and cunning, who love to bewitch humans to get their own way.
They are known to take pity on humans, and help them in some situations, but to do this they are not afraid of making fun of people!
They can disguise themselves easily as to not be noticed by humans.
