I've heard lots of dates - 50 years, 60 years, 70 years, 100 years, 500 etc. As soon as it'll run out we'll find way to use other substance instead of it - it's the way human mind work

Back to the year thing.....if we kept going and finding new fuels we may eventually become ecological but by that stage the Earth's limited resources will be extinct and never restore themselves.........What is it about Humans that makes them so much different to other species??? I mean every other creature or lifeform we know of fits nicely into the cycle of life and the ecological balancve......then we come along and tip the balance all over the floor.

It's because we have minds, we think, we want, we lust after. It'#s greed that has made us what we are.

Well that's it. We have been given the ability to make decisions; but are they always the right ones?

I did you come to the conclusion that only humans think.....I agree with the fact we experience greed in a more general manner, that is more likely a reason.

Okay! If I fail to turn up for about three weeks or more, just drop a memo into my Memo Bin (F82452?thread=186562) and I'll be right back!
Anyway, let's see if I can join this conversation...
I think intelligence is partly connected with cruelty. Cat's are smart (well, most cats...), and they are the only animals (except humans) that kill for pleasure. I wonder what that tells you about their intelligence...

kill for pleasure? I suppose so......but at least they stick to there part of the balance, they help limit the rodent population, so as they dont overrun the place. The only thing to limit our population growth is disease and ourselves........
