Alaska Snowboarding

1.) The moronic idiots who want to get away from it all.
2.) The "cool" idiots who want to get it all.
3.) The freestyle idiots who want to do it all.
4.) And the buisness people who take breaks so often that they pretty
much never go to work.
Now, in Alaskan terms, a crowded Ski resort usually means that Uncle Ted and Aunt Bob are going down the hill. Of course, it is some of the best snowboarding in the world. And most of it is usually in some guy's backyard.
But, if you really want to get some awesome snowboarding/skiing done in Alaska, I suggest that you come to Anchorage, Alaska. They have a couple of resorts(only small ones) and then one huge one about 40 miles south of Anchorage. It's called Alyeska Ski Resort. Ask anyone in the town and they know exactly where it is. Even the homeless. You just go on the only highway, go south, and you will eventually end up on this one lane highway, right next to some pretty hefty cliffs/mountains. Go for about 45 minutes and you will end up in this small town: Girdwood. Alyeska Resort is pretty much what Girdwood thrives on so everyone knows where it is. And anyway, it's kind of hard to miss. It's the only mountain that opens up in the kind of way in which you would expect for a resort to open. They also have a four star hotel and restaurant right next to it so you can take long vacations there. I forgot the name of the hotel. Every March they end up having a contest called the SLUSH CUP. It's a blast and this is what the people do:
1.)They dress up as famous people(Britney Spears, Austin Powers, etc...)
2.) They come down the mountain at phenominal speeds.
3.) They hit a huge junp and fly into a huge pool of melted snow.
4.) They awarded points on Classiness, Best dressed, and crowd approval.
5.) If you clear the pool you get extra points.
6.) After you clear it, you jump back in for lots of extra points.
That's pretty much snowboarding in Alaska
