Palm VIIx

It's distinguishing feature is it's built-in wireless internet capablilty. Flipping up the antenna on the side activates the transciever. The system is set up exclusively for the Palm.net service. The service is billed on a per kilobyte basis (the clipping apps and tiny screen work to limit the amount of data that has to be recieved). To use any other wireless service requires the traditional additional equipment. The current model that uses the same set-up is the i705 (the most expensive of the line).
Like other PalmOS based systems, it supports a wide array of third party software loaded by sycronization with a host PC. Input is through a touch screen and a few command buttons. Text is entered by writing in a specalized alphabet, using an on screen form of keyboard, or an add-on keyboard.
Brief Specifications:
8mb ram (used both as working and permanent storage)
greyscale backlit screen
OS upgradeable
Note: The wireless capability makes this unit a prime canidate for accesing the Guide anywhere. A web clipping app would make such usage easier.
