The Ministry helpline, presented in a convenient online format below, is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. The rules and regulations governing the use of this colour are set out below.
Definition
Alab*ster Blue-Green is defined as the Web Safe Colour #669999 and any close derivatives, in whatever context the colour is used.
Usage and Permission
Usage
Usage of this colour is graded from * to ***** depending upon the extent of usage of the colour. The grades of usage are defined below:
- * is applicable when the colour is used in isolated instances across a page, for example as a minor part of a logo or graphic, or to emphasise a single word of text.
- ** applies to where the colour is used in an isolated instance as the main colour in an image, or across up to a paragraph of text.
- *** is the grade given where the colour is used as the secondary or tertiary colour in a theme or page design, but is not used as a prominent backbone of said colour scheme.
- **** is appropriate to all usage of the colour that exceeds the guidelines set out in ***, but that does not constitute a level 5 grade, for example where the colour is used as the mainstay of a colour scheme (for example h2g2's Alabaster skin).
- ***** applies to extreme usage of the colour, where the colour takes up more than fifty (50) percent of a page, for example when used as a page background or major table or frame bacground.
Permission
Anyone may use the colour for whatever purposes they wish, without requesting specific permission from M4ABG, subject to the following conditions:
- Permission is required for usage of the colour intended to make profit directly from its usage
- Permission is required should ***** usage be required for any non-governmental or h2g2 purpose.
- The colour is not to be applied in any way that could be seen as detrimental to the colour's image or status.
Appendices
The M4ABG accepts no responsibility for harm that may arise from the use of the colour. The Ministry is simply concerned with the welfare of the colour, and not that of any skin, theme or design associated with it. The Ministry is not attempting to sell Alab*ster Blue-Green to the Classic Goo community, and has no wish to impose it upon them by force. All enquiries about Goo Blue or other colours should be directed through the Minsitry for Favourite Colours, as linked to at the top of this page. Permission for ***** usage can be obtained by posting below. Permission should be considered automatically granted unless otherwise directly notified by the Minister for Alab*ster Blue-Green personally.
