Our first encounter with cobblers is usually through fairy tales. Thus the saying of grown-ups, "it's a load of old cobblers." Somehow, somewhere during development the magic of fantasy loses its credibility, and instead we "cobble together" different stories that proclaim our detachment from childish things.
