The Runcible Spoon

2 Conversations

Made famous by Edward Lear's "The Owl and the Pussycat", a runcible spoon is more like a fork - in as much as it is a spoon with three prongs in its bowl or a fork with a really spoony effect on its prongs. It's usually large and made of wood and we had one hanging from the wall in our kitchen in the 70's (our spoon had intricate carvings on it).
I have no idea of the pricipal uses of a runcible spoon but I reckon a pair of them could toss a good salad and one of then would be good for serving spaghetti.
