Michael Jackson was born August 29, 1958 and was known as 'The king of pop'. He sang, danced, choreographed and many more things. He was recognised as one of the most succesful entertainers of all time. His very puclicised private life and music and dancing made him an international icon for over 4 decades.
We first knew about Michael Jackson in 1964, when he made his debut with his brothers in Jackson 5. He started his solo career in 1971, which resulted in 10 albums. A big hit was Thriller known worldwide and was the best selling album of all time, selling over 100 million copies, and was also voted the greatest music video of all time.
Other Jackson hits were:
Billie Jean, Beat it, Bad, The earth song, Don't stop 'til you get enough, Wanna be startin' somthing and so many more.
He made a number of dance techniques popular such as the 'robot' and 'moonwalk' which people still use today.
Other acheivments that Jackson had, included 13 Guiness World Records, 15 Grammy Awards, 26 American music awards, 17 number 1 singles in the USA, and over 780 million record sales worldwide.
Jacksons' personal life was constantly in the public eye for years, one particular moment when his appearence started to change such as his nasal structure, and skin colour and attracted alot of media attention, and in 1993 he was accused of child sex abuse, but no formal charges were bought.
Sadly on June 25, 2009 Jackson died from a drugs overdose. Jacksons' death devasted fans all over the world, and as many as a billion people watched his public memorial service live on TV.
