Not the brain, it's my second favourite organ

Hi MO
Well I found out one thing on Thursday night! Being strange, new coinage and the Kasteel having a leaning towards darkish decor and lighting I had to keep putting on my glasses to identify the coins!
I really had a job identifying them although, during the day, they are quite easily distinguishable!
Apart from that the notes are simple but remind me of toy money and the whole thing is pretty straightforward provided you don't try converting back and forwards!

Yes, I was disappointed with the toy town look of the money too. They want the Euro to rival the dollar but the dollar is the classiest looking money on the planet. So how could the Euro have bettered it? The widescreen look has been taken so I think it should have been tall, thin money instead (a format I'm fond of as you know) in various sombre shades. What a missed opportunity. They also disposed of that idea to have each country issuing its own notes so that eventually they'd all mix up around the world. Perhaps they thought that countries would put silly nationalistic heroes on just to annoy their former foes. Now, really!

Everyone knows that money should have pictures on them of dead people or royalty. Those are the rules

If you have ever seen the note designs for the (now defunct) guilder, you will know that the Dutch just loved their money to be bright... bright orange, bright pink, bright blue, even bright silver!
So, I imagine they are somewhat disappointed by the Euro even though these colours still appear, they are muted in comparison.

all well, atleast the pund notes have some of our great inventors on and the queen of course. they could have made the money out of little chips 1k would do, but people seem to get stuck in the past. Oh well 500 year inventions allways seem to stick for so long
