Big title- could be a bit about hamburg, germany where I was at the time,
I originally called it a circular story, intending to have a story without a theme, that got back to the begining in the end, so its a sort of semicircular story as it was never finished...
Hope you like it, and look forward to hearing your views...

Um. Couple of points:
- Doing the article in plain text is fine, but you might want to leave a line break in between paragraphs. Or, doing it in Guide ML and just putting and around the paragraphs will do much towards making it easier to read.
- While there's some interesting speculation/philosophy in there, what exactly is the purpose of the article? Edited Guide articles tend to be a bit more focused and not based solely on personal opinion or musings.
While it's fine as a Guide entry, I'm not quite sure it's suitable for the Edited Guide.

I took a first look and couldn't convince myself to read through it. Anyways, this entry is not what I'm used to see in the EDITED guide. I honestly don't think GuideML alone will remedy it.
Give it a format, add some paragraphs (not necessarily GuideML, just hit the retur-key from time to time) and maybe it'll look more inviting to a reader like me.
Until then I guess it's no go for the edited guide.

Gnomon - time to move on Posted Dec 21, 2001
This is an interesting piece of writing, but it is not Edited Guide material. Edited Guide entries are supposed to be factual descriptions of the real world and the bizarre things that happen or have happened. This is more of a personal opinion about the state of the world.
Your entry is worth keeping in the guide and is already available to all through the Search button. As a piece of writing, it needs more work - perhaps you would put it into the Writer's Workshop, where somebody might help you get the style and formatting right.

Hey, how about one of these places? The edited guide is looking for fact rather than fiction, but (of course) there's space for everything

If any of you are still on the thread, the reason that the formats funny is that it is copied and pasted from my own web site. I appreciate that it is maybe personal opinion, and maybe even an ego trip to lead you through it, but hey, I offer it for nothing, and expect nothing in return- theres always more where that came from...
Thanks
Adam

You might like to submit to the Writing Workshop instead - that way, if it becomes EG material, you can bring it back when it's really ready. Interesting, though!

I sort of hacked it down to size, kept it on one subject and put it in the third person- Better ?
I hope that it doesnt sound bitter- I liked the place and the people..

It is a bit negative - you say nothing of what there is to do, and it reads like a voiceover guy at the beginning of a dreary, dark film. Still, good work. I'm not sure, but see what the others think.
However, I certainly found it a good read.
