Aardvark is the first proper word in the dictionary. Of course there’s A but nobody really counts that as a decent word.
The aardvark is a nocturnal South African mammal. It lives on termites which it eats by burrowing into termite mounds with its long snout, and then picking off the termites with its even longer tongue. The silly snout gives the aardvark a smug look which is increased by its knowing it is the first proper name in the dictionary.
