It was built using Twinkle's Smiley Generator on 12-12-2001, whilst I was on a stupidly long lunchbreak (URL follows when I remember where I put it!).

I once thought, "Thingites need sporks. I am a Thingite, and although I do have my own RL spork at home - we need a spork smiley for H2G2". At this point, I had no idea that it would be me who would do it - just that somebody ought to. (That's a lie actually - I just said it to try to sound a bit like DNA!) I've left a thing on the new smileys page to try to get the spork officially accepted as a thing between pointy brackets!!!
