Why I'm posting here

I'm not sure if this is worthy of a Guide Entry but I'm told that this is the only way under the rules that I can post the URL (see conversation "Unhelpful URL restrictions" in the "House rules for H2G2" forum, http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F63189?thread=126370 ) without it being moderated out.

What is Live Journal

LiveJournal is a Free/"Voluntary subscription" web log (ie journal) site. You can use it for free but if you buy a paid subscription then you get access to faster servers and some extra faccilities (eg the ability to include Polls in you journal entries).

My Journal

My journal is at http://www.livejournal.com/~stephenbooth_uk/ if you're interested you might also want to check out my friends page ( http://www.livejournal.com/~stephenbooth_uk/friends ) which is a collation of the recent entries made by my friends and in communities I'm a member of.

Bringing the journals together

At the time of writing this (moderators, don't worry LiveJournal entries are persistant) there is a very interesting entry and discussion in one of the development communities on ways of providing interoperability between weblog sites, see http://www.livejournal.com/talkread.bml?itemid=16168576

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
