h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

A great idea but it will require a lot of publicity if it is to succeed. The current projects mentioned need a worldwide audience if others are to copy them and start a movement for change. The BBC is in a unique position to do this by ensuring that details, trailers and post-project reports are advertised in their magazines and broadcast on radio and TV as well as on the website. It could make for some spectacular programmes and TV coverage of the microlights could become a cult which, though not the prime objective, would all be grist to the mill.

I'd only add that the best way to get great publicity is to find great stories, because at the end of the day the media, including the net, is all about storytelling.

Love this idea!! If you're looking for pilot's I'm happy to volunteer. I've got my own aircraft (microlight of course!), qualified instructor and over 5,000 hours in the log book.

Thanks for posting. 360 will be moving to its own site very shortly. The first project, starting February 1st, will be 'Building the Microlight in 360 hours' at the same time we will be suggesting how people who already have one can contribute to 360. So keep dropping in especially during the first two weeks of February
