The Aga Khan Rural Project teaches respect for nature, expands resources and enhances productivity in over 80 per cent of the households in a mountainous region as large as Ireland, organised into 3,450 Village Organisations, one third of which are for women only. (The Aga Khan Foundation has more than 50 similar projects worldwide).
