Sounds pretty dull, huh? Well, no matter, if you've got this far then you might just click on this link and have a look.

If you are going to, then you might like to read the comments below afterwards.
If not, don't bother reading on, but don't worry either. After all, it's just for fun!
So, I am putting this into the writing workshop because I have never had anything in Peer Review and I don't want to send it straight there. I figured I could get some feedback from experienced people here first.
I have already had some feedback in the thread on the A-page so you might like to have a glance there before launching in. Don't worry, it's not the British English thread! It won't take long.
I suspect I may have made a mistake in concentrating on English grammar rather than simply 'grammar'. Linguists would no doubt prefer to define Pr and Dec in terms of language theory and language 'in general' rather than applying them to a specific language.
This would mean that a lot of the 'historical' stuff about the development of a standard language might be seen as at best a red herring and at worst positively misleading.
I considered changing the title to reflect this (perhaps Pr vs Dec appr to English grammar) but decided I would leave it 'as is' and see what people throw up (if you'll excuse the term! ).
Finally, it's not finished yet! I was just about to have a go at a further edit when I decided to post this. Basically, I'm not expecting an instant response here, nor even a particularly widespread one. Just thought I would suck it and see.
Well, thanks for reading if you got this far (Yeah, even if you just went straight to the bottom after the disclaimer! That's ok too). Look forward to any comments that come. Do your worst, but expect me to defend my corner! Not to the death, though.

PS I know these intro postings are not usually this long. Is this anti-social or acceptable (or even helpful)?
Key: Complain about this post
