A new series! A new(ish) companion! But the same old stories? Perhaps, perhaps not...
Think you can do better than Russell T or Stephen Moffat?
Well, why not?!
The Post is very excited to announce (and you members of the h2g2 Doctor Who Group are the very first to know!) that there will a Doctor Who Fan Fic competition to coincide with the new series!
Think you can write a short fan fic piece (no more than 1500 words)? All you need to know for now to help get your creative juices flowing is this;
"What does a flashing blue light mean to you?"

Rockets Gibralter!
The Doctor was travelling alone. He landed in a forest of giant plants. "Anyone?" he screamed.
A colonist came, dressed in a catsuit. "I'm Klyt." she said.
"I'm Doctor John Smith. This the Gibralter Project, an early top secret colony."
The plants screamed. A giant alligator ate the TARDIS. "Stop them!" said Klyt.
The Doctor and Klyt used the Sonic Screwdriver to shrink them to the size of a thumbnail. They entered the creature's mouth.
"We're lucky the screwdriver had Lute energy." said the Doctor.
Klyt found the minaturised rocket. "Let's find the TARDIS!"
"The TARDIS miniaturised the rocket." said the Doctor.
The giant plants slowly died out. Klyt and the Doctor grew bigger, and entered the TARDIS.
"The plants are dead, and the colony's well." said Klyt. The colony continued to prosper. She closed the TARDIS door, and decided that she would...
