Really used to get a kick out of the paradox per episode format of the late seventies Doctor Who... . ...then would come that moment when the Doctor, rather than putting his foot in it when the alien bad guys of the week confronted him with that exercise in paradoxical entrapment, would instead give them the ol' hairy eyeball 'n' blow the joint.
