Well, that rocked nicely. Spoilt only by 'Oh it's kids' TV so we'll just fart about' acting from the two teachers/Slitheen.

Next story looks a cut darker, which could be good, oh, and 'Love to the Brig' smiley - ok

"Spoilt only by 'Oh it's kids' TV so we'll just fart about' acting from the two teachers/Slitheen."

Or, it could be argued, a consistent performance matching those from Aliens of London. I think the Slitheen are definitely aimed more at the younger portion of the viewership (and therefore were probably a good choice for the first episode).

I thought it was excellent - my kids were thrilled to see the slitheen, and were scared by the cliffhanger (the first time, anyway). We had to watch it again immediately afterwards, and I neglected to record part two so we get a traditional week's wait for part two.

Looks like this will fill the Doctor Who gap for the next ten weeks.
