entry has been added to Community Choice. is a great place for Doctor Who Fans to post and with the new year hopefully bringing us closerto a new Doctor Who, the group will hopefully get a new influx of activity.

I'd like a banner and badge that represents the Doctor Who title
sequence in some way. Perhaps the banner containing the text 'The H2G2 Doctor Who Group' and the members badge containg the text 'Doctor Who Fan' or 'Member of the H2G2 Doctor Who Group' or something like that.

Thanks for being so patient there, Spook. No surprise that, as the unofficial Doctor Who nut on the CA list, I'll be helping you with this, in my non-office time though.

First thoughts are using the colours of the Tom Baker titles, blue and green, and creating something that has the flavour of those titles without just copying them.

For the banner, a time tunnel similar to the blue, square one, with 'The h2g2 Doctor Who Group' floating down it.

For the badge, a diamond-shaped logo, like the Tom Baker one, but with the words 'h2g2 Doctor Who Group' across the diamond, with the same time tunnel in the background.

How does that sound?

that diamond shaped logo is something i enquired about almost two years ago when you added a couple of doctor who pictures once. what you just described sounds absolutely marvelous!

I managed to get myself some webspace a few weeks ago, but it sometimes locks on me if too many people download stuff, so let me know if it asks for a password or anything and I'll email the pics instead.

As you can see, I created a background that's similar to the later Jon Pertwee / Tom Baker slit-scan titles, with the same font that BBC Worldwide use on the DVDs and books (it's called Assiduous, if you're interested). I tried doing a curved banner over the badge but to be honest it looked a bit messy when I reduced it. Hopefully the diamond motif is still recognisable on the badge anyway
