SAD NEWS:
JOHN NATHAN TURNER HAS DIED AFTER A SHORT ILLNESS.
seems he was suffering from Liver disease-hopefully the BBC will show some sort of tribute to this member of the Who family.

I'm sorry to hear that. Like or loathe his time on the series (and it's entirely reasonable to do both) you can't deny he always did what he thought was best for the show while he was producer. I can't see the BBC doing a tribute, though.

nah-
Don't worry---they won't...they could have a least bunged on a episode of Who-
but tv channels don't seem to go in for much in the way of tributes at all now.

Tributes these days just seem to go to 'in front of camera' talent. And (other than All Creatures) I couldn't name a single other TV show JNT worked on.
Well, even if they did, which single episode of Who would you choose to represent the whole of the JNT era, good and bad?

I think the last episode of Logopolis would be a good episode to show-but that would fall into the good category...for bad-oh crumbs!
any episode with Colin Baker arguing with "Peri" would do.

Funny, I thought of Logopolis too... I can't think of a single episode that really sums up the good and the bad of JNT's reign... well, maybe episode two of Revelation of the Daleks - great performances, production values and direction, but weak dialogue, too much continuity, no kind of moral centre and too much violence.

I grew up with JNT's Who, so it certainly is a sad loss.

Yep-
same here!
I grew up watching Tom B, and then onto Peter-who I vowed I'd never watch-cos he'd replaced My Tom!
that didn't last long though...

Sadly my sister said she fancied Peter Davison. She was 7 at the time...
