From the convention report at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/4281238.stm

"The ninth Doctor Who, actor Colin Baker, was among the celebrities who attended the event."

I imagine Colin will be rather flattered to hear he's been confused with Chris Eccleston. smiley - winkeye

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am...

Somehow I'm having difficulty imagining Captain Jack snogging Colin in quite the same way as Eccleston...

Guess where I've just come back from...?

Great event, but lordy, a 5-hour drive back from Swansea to London on a Sunday night after TWO LONG NIGHTS of convention bar-going is not a recipe for being wide awake on a Monday morning...!

Bacon and eggs, Paully? Nice greasy fried bread? Quick, someone turn on the stereo in the towers- a bit of the Irons should do it smiley - winkeye.

Not got a hangover actually - just veh veh veh tired. Still, I got to say a very effusive hello to Simon Williams (from Remembrance) - I've become a convert to Upstairs Downstairs of late, and it was great to enthuse to a convention guest about a programme other than Doctor Who! smiley - smiley

Pah, no hangover? What sort of convention-goer are you? smiley - winkeye

It's always fun when you can do that, isn't it? Probably as much for teh guest as the attendee.

No hangover *today*. Saturday and Sunday mornings, on the other hand... let's just say that the convention hotel did a roaring trade in black coffee and red bulls...

*snigger*

I've taken to investing in 36-pack trays of cheap energy drinks, to be stored in the bottom of the fridge for emergencies. So mcuh more wallet-friendly.

And the BBC shop had a nice surprise for us this lunchtime.

Let's put it this way - as soon as we can find somewhere to buy the batteries, two of the Italics will be taking turns with their sonic screwdrivers to make the team swear box (a Tardis money box) appear and disappear, just like that there Doctor Who did on the telly.

And in case there's any horrific confusion there, no - that's not innuendo.

In fact, forget I mentioned it...smiley - erm

I'll never look at a sonic screwdriver in quite the same way again. smiley - winkeye

Eccleston's Doctor must've been a very happy bunny then, given that his seems to have at least 2482 settings. smiley - winkeye

2482? smiley - erm Wasn't 'mending barbed wire' setting 22,000 ish?

Well to be honest, I couldn't remember, so I googled for it smiley - blush. So you could be right and the site I found wrong.

Well the good news is that the sonic screwdriver works a treat. I've already been scrawling UV messages on surfaces around my flat. I think I might scribble something offensive on Natalie or Jimster - very amusing if they're just on their way out to a nightclub...

You *might* have out-geeked me. Depends whether you're right or not smiley - tongueout

Oh, that is *such* a good idea Paully. As soon as I get one I'm going to wander around our local of a Friday night scrawling 'I'm a really bad dancer' or 'Don't sleep with me, I'll never call you' on the lads.

Hmm, being bored I googled it too...

Unless someone's got the DVD/script and can prove otherwise - it looks like you could be right... people tend to be saying 2482D - I must have misheard the D as another number.
