You're attempting to enlarge my target to make my attack look ridiculous. Guns are very unpleasant things designed to to a job which most of us find morally highly questionable, if not reprehensible.
My apologies if you thought I was accusing you of spouting fatuous rubbish. I wasn't, but I've heard this argument so many times beforehand. As far as I am concerned, the risks of guns in civilian society far outweighs the benefits. That is, if you believe there is such as thing as 'society' in the first place.

Well, I believe guns should be available (regulated) in a civilian society. You won't change my mind on that, and it doesn't sound like I'll change yours either, so I suggest we agree to differ.

Thanks. I shall eat it with the imaginary vegetables from the raised beds I *SHOULD* have built in my back garden three months ago but the timber wasn't in stock and it's cold outside and oooh, my aching back...

What is this thing about guns, anyhow? Why does anybody feel they need a gun smiley? And, BTW, 'railguns' in reality (a) don't exist and (b) if they did would be tens, if not hundreds of metres long. If we had a smile of one there wouldn't be room left for anything else.
