Band Geeks

1 Conversation

Band Geeks are an odd sort of species... One can distinguish them from the normal human by their vocal utterances about bands and their herding instinct around band-esque things and events.

There are three types of band geeks:

1) Professional band geeks - they _love_ a particular band that makes money. Not worth the time to write about them.

2) School band geeks - they perform in a marching/concert band in a school, or herd with one.

A) soft-core - one who is not addicted to performance, one who remains in reality. Wolf in sheep's clothing, but less dangerous

B) Hard-core: these people will play or die... usually prefer to march... dream (literally) of DCI / DCUK / DCA field bands. Perform in college field bands, given a chance. Prefer Sousa to Dire Straits (a mortal sin) Deserve respect for Devotion

3) "Wannabe"s - they want to herd and talk, but have never heard a band (of interest) play... easy to spot when their opinions fail to conform without justification.

Observation of a band geek is difficult (herding), and other Researchers and hikers will definitely have different opinions.

If encountered, DONT PANIC. Feel free to herd with them. It is impossible to have more fun without them -- period.
