Dentistspeak is a language used by dentists. It helps to know this vernacular when you are lying in the chair not knowing what they are going to do to you.

Drill ---A drill to clean out cavities for filling insertion.If this hits a nerve, expect PAIN.Eclusal Restoration ---Filling. In case you didn't know, this is a small piece of metal used for filling cavities.Filling ---See Eclusal Restoration.Mirror ---A small circular mirror, used to look for plaque + cavities. Often used in conjunction with the pick(q.v.).Pick ---A small metal hook used for scraping plaque off. Not too painful if used in expert hands, but otherwise can rip up your gum.Silver ---The small piece of metal used in a filling.Upper left 1-7 etc.---This alludes to a certain tooth. Upper/lower left/right refers to a quarter of the mouth, while 1-7 is how far back it is; 1 is a front tooth, 7 at the very back. A-G is used in place of 1-7 for milk teeth.
