h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

As both the Hull and London meets appear to be happening on May 15th, shall we try and do a 'live' link-up? Perhaps via Skype?

I have an all new, all singing, all dancing wi-fi laptop with built in cam but I don't have Skype.
I did download it but frankly wasn't impressed. It kept sending pop-up messages everytime I did e-mail asking for the e-mail to be added as a contact.
Every site I visited it asked to add the site, frankly it's a pain so I deleted it.
I have msn messenger or MS Netmeeting, both do video linking quite well.

I have Skype and use it daily to keep in touch with people. I don't have any problems with it at all.

If I can't make it to the meet - perhaps I could 'Skype' you all?

Hmm, ok, I've downloaded skype again. Spent some time sorting what it does and doesn't do.
All I need to do now is wait for the folk I've invited as contacts to respond. At present I have one contact listed.

Hmm, got laptop, got the software, now I need some contact details from whoever has same at the London end.

You have my contact details. I won't have a laptop, but if the eds have one, maybe I could sign into Skype from their account (provided they have one).

Brilliant plan with no laptop.

We could probably do morse code, or cb radio. OR!... a phone call on loudspeaker, a sort of rowdy conference call. LOL

I'd volunteer to make smoke signals. I'm sure other will support me. Not sure about the Hull crowd, though, I think none of them are into smoke signals.
