Physicist's hands
Created | Updated Apr 9, 2002
We know that France has the kilogram safely held to prevent its mass changing but I want to know if somewhere there is the pickled, deformed, severed, left hand of Flemming. This hand could be checked every hundred years to make sure that evoloution has not made his law a physical imposibility.
Is it not also possible that there is also the hand of the creator of the right hand grip rule. If it is, is it still in use today? Is it taken to parties by students and used to give offensive gestures? Is it used by hitchhikers. Perhaps it is used for practical demonstrations of the corkscrew rule.
Willl one day all parts of physicists be combined to make a monster, who can't do anything with his left hand and can only hold cylendrical objects in his right?
