Dream within a Dream

0 Conversations

I was asleep when I felt your arms around me—

Your breath on my neck, suddenly there.

I opened my eyes, just a crack, to see,

Could it really be you? Is this true?

It was you, those were your hands,

But all the same, “This must be a dream.”

I sighed a bit, knowing, but relaxed

Into illusion. You kissed me,

Gently, on the ear,

And I felt your breath,

Your chest rising and falling,

And I looked at your hands again.

It was then that I realized it wasn’t a dream.

Those hands were too real, so detailed,

“This can’t be a dream.” I rolled over.

For a few moments more, I felt the bliss

Of having you there, wrapped around me,

Real.

I could see you,

Smell you,

Touch you,

Hear you -

And then I woke up.

Damn.
