Are there really supermarket own brand versions of Marmite? Which ones sell it? I might go and try some as an experiment.

well I'm sure that Sainsbury's do it, but i use Lidl's version (called Chira) which, in a blind test, I couldn't tell apart.... (well I'm lying about the "blind" bit of the test...)

I have no objections to yeast, it's just I prefer it to be added to things, like say malt, sugar and water, rather than have something extracted from it.

Erm - so how many alcoholic products do you know that still include the yeast? (apart from the obvoius exception of WeissBier...)
I seem to remember something about Marmite being, originally, a by-product of the brewing process...
