If you will just read my entry about the "Qualities of infinity" you will come to understand that there are subtle differences in the various types of infinity.
You can in fact count to infinity given an infinite amount of time and counting very fast(the set of integers for instance.)
But there are in fact some infinities that cannot be counted since there is simply no first number to find (the set of fractions for example since there is no smallest fraction.)
Your notes concerning applying mathematical functions to infinity is rather Adamsonian (given the amount of information concerning the number 42 for instance was far too much over the top.) One only needs to go to the set of rules concerning transfinite numbers and they make very logical sense to people with a shred of logic within them.
