Aberdeen certainly should be in the guide. Congratulations for trying to put it there! There's a lot more you could say about Aberdeen though.
For a start there's the harbour. Footie, the fishing village by the harbour, virtually unchanged in a couple of hundred years or more. The University's ancient buildings and cobbled stone street. The two mile long city centre high street and the mile long pink sand beach ten minutes from that city centre. Streets of granite tenements. Rivers Don and Dee bordering the city north and south. The Glasshouses in the botanic gardens.
Aberdeen is a wonderful city. An amazing mix of ancient and very new. It has everything without being too big. In what other city will you see oyster catchers fly through the city centre? Or eider ducks round the harbour or otters in a river that runs through it.
Maybe you could consider changing the title of your entry to narrow it down to the part of Aberdeen you want to write about. To try to cover everything would make it a very long guide entry. Perhaps something along the lines of "Aberdeen nightlife". Or "What to do on a Saturday afternoon in Aberdeen".
Wz.

I must agree with Wazungu, Aberdeen is much more complex than this Entry indicates. You have just scratched the surface, dropping hints to tantalise hitchhikers Hmmm, I have some time off soon, so if you want to collaborate on updating the Entry, I would be happy to help out Well, I hope this isn't too disheartening, and if you have any questions or want more info, then just yell and I will do what I can to help out Until later.....

Hi woodenpole,
Glad to see you're back, but the other guys are right, this is still a long way short of covering enough of Aberdeen to be its official Guide description.
What about the importance of the oil industry to the town? The fact that at one time it had as many universities as the whole of England (2)? The radioactive threat from the granite on which it's built?
We have an insatiable appetite for factual information, and so far it isn't much more than a mouthful. Feed us!
BTW, you should also try to convert the entry to GuideML, since HTML is no longer supported. See http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/GuideML-Clinic for help.
Good luck with all the work!

I have update the entry on Aberdeen so it includes mor information. I will try to add more infrormation so it will have more good information. I will try to focus on the more historical aspect of Aberdeen.

History and background are good. But don't let them get in the way of what to do and where to go for a traveller unexpectedly stuck there for a night.

I would suggest splitting up the entry into sections using subheaders
title
and then putting the relevant information in each bit
Say: History, Entertainment, Tourist sights and accomodation, other info (stuff like the Uni, and the footie and so on)

without trying to ask too much of you... there are some typos to be taken care of, and I don't think the entry, as it stands now, does justice to an interesting place

For an example of an edited entry on a British city, see my article:
A442513 (that's http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A442513) On York.
Right now, my recommendations for this article are:
More detail! History of the city, more attractions, places to eat, and places to stay...

Hi Woodenpole, are you still working on this? The consensus (and for what it's worth I agree) is that there isn't enough detail for a guide entry on Aberdeen. How about a move to the writing workshop while it's finished off?

I don't know the first think about Aberdeen, but this entry is rife with spelling and grammar errors. Maybe it should go to the WW.

Monsignore Pizzafunghi Bosselese Posted Aug 24, 2001
I'll agree to that. Or, taking Orkus' posting as a 'first', I hereby second the move to the WW.
