Most people suffer from an irrational fear of spiders but this does not confine them to the fear of spiders themselves but of the fear of things that resemble them. Strawberry and tomato stalks are often mistaken for small spiders, much to the embarassment of the arachnaphobe. Also other objects include, animal hair (usually cat found in little fluff balls on the living-room carpet), contorted twigs, 'straightened' paperclips and and the remains of a bunch if grapes when all the grapes have been consumed.
