I've not really got much to say on this. It's about Aesop. And his fables. And, erm...well that's it. Feel free to tear it apart.

Right,

*prepares to rip it up...*

Ummm.

Nope. Nothing wrong with it. To the contrary, this is an excellent entry. I'd even forgotten the stories you quote were Aesop's fables.

Brilliant smiley - ok

Two tiny things...

Undoubtedly the word is not undoubtably smiley - winkeye
Cutlass is spelt thus smiley - smiley

smiley - cheers

smiley - blushThankyou smiley - smiley

That was partly the idea, that so many people know the stories but have no idea who wrote them. You once knew, but there are people out there who never had any idea.

Gnomon - time to move on

A very good entry.

One or two minor typos:

borthers --> brothers
Anderson --> Andersen
altogether --> all together

Good work!

At least it gave Bossel a chance to show off. I forgot all about that one.

Nice one!

I didn't know the hare in the "The Hare and the Tortoise" was a female smiley - winkeye

I saw this...

"They aere left with no goose ..."

and I think I saw a "repeis" or similar instead of replies".

The hare's definitely a 'she' in my copy. But that could be the editors taking liberties. If anyone has a copy that says otherwise I could use 'it' instead, but for now I'll keep it as 'she'.

Thanks, I fixed the spellings- and yes, I managed to miss the l out of replies.

Hi Dastardly,

I wasn't suggesting that "she" was wrong or should be changed. I had just never noticed it. Or, maybe as you suggest, you copy was just a modern, politically correct version that wanted to balance the genders.

I'm sure your entry is guide bound - but this process goes at a hare's pace sometimes.
