It is a strange and sad fact of life on Earth that discrimination occurs at all levels. One of the less obvious acts of preferential treatment can be seen in fruits, where limes are lime green, lemons are lemon yellow, but oranges get a colour entirely to themselves. The United Nations has never tried to rectify this.
