THE SIMPLE ART OF CHANGING YOUR OIL

0 Conversations

The simple task of changing the oil in your car is often neglected, put off, forgotten about, and eventually handed over to a complete stranger who charges you at least three times as much as it would cost you to do it your self.

To begin this simple task we will first need to gather supplies you’ll need: oil, a wrench that fits the bolt in your oil pan, a collection pan for the oil, an oil cloth, and for some cars a funnel.

Now we can begin to drain the oil. Put the pan under the bolt and take the bolt out. Do not put your face under the bolt. Let the oil drip out of the car (all of it) you can then clean your bolt and place it back were it came from, after you clean it with your oil rag. Tighten the bolt as tight as you can with out breaking anything.

Now your car is ready to receive new oil. Locate the oil cap under the hood of your car. Insert 3 Quarts of oil. Check your oil level and continue to add oil 1 quart at a time until your oil level is at the safe or full level. Now replace your oil cap and your car is ready to roll (assuming nothing else is wrong with it).
