Oklahoma City

Oklahoma city is the capital of oklahoma, it is the largest city and is central in location for the state. it was founded during the land run of 1889, which is basically a large easter egg hunt with guns. your prize however was a flat piece of dirt. the metro area, okc and burbs, are 4,242 square miles and a population of 1,083,346 humans, legal humans citizens.

sports
The most popular sport is football, college football is tradition and on and any given fall saturdays there will occur oklahoma city's only true traffic jam. the jam will occur the thirty miles between oklahoma city and the college town and now suburb norman. however this section of road is also the section of road the oklahoma hiway dept has selected as its shrine. this area of two lane road has been on constent reconstruction since i was born in 1974. and will give you plenty of machinely to adore. although it seems this state of the art equipment requires no people to work them. football is followed by a new addication to hockey. a sport played on ice in which oklahoma city has very little of. arena football is also played in the same arena as hockey although they unfortantly move the ice during this season. baseball is also a poplar pastime, the redhawks, formerlly 89ers, are a AAA ball club of the texas rangers.

bricktown
there are some intersting places to go in town. Bricktown is a older area of town bought by a guy. who then did a great sales job and had the city redevelop it into a thriving commercial zone with its own river walk, although its not much of a walk nor is it really a river. the city built a new baseball park and are building a new stadium for hockey and indoor football in the area, so the one patch of ice will be moved a whole 200 yards. although, all this building is taking place there are no parking lots being built to hopefully increase transit service in the form of a bus dresses up like a historic streetcar. This area is for those looking to watch other people. not necessary for the dinning pleasure although chelinos and bourbon street are worth the money and time.

where to eat
best late night: electro lounge has the best sanwiches in town is a semi altentive hangout but all is welcome. galioes is a creative diner with the best humas around.

best food value: wednesday nights at bufallo wild wings .50 legs with 12 flavors to choose from. a couple can eat good here on seven or eight bucks if not drinking.

best chicken: is 30 miles out on northwest expressway in okarche, its called aschens but dont worry it is the only place in town to eat.
runner up is barrys chicken ranch it is between okc and norman you have two choices here chicken fried steaks or chicken? the fixing comes out family style.

best 24 hour: jimmy roundup on 59 and blackwelder. if you wonder what was being rounded up you will soon see the place is the greese captial of oklahoma, and were just talking about the patrons wait till you see the food. there is no place better at 4 am.

best steaks: "nomad 2" founded by a mobster still serves up great steak and pizza not sure which i would recommend over the other, still has a nice 70's feel. "Cattlemens" its all about the history in this place was founded early in the history of the city. its located in the historic stockyards more laws were made and broken in this joint then any others. was and still is a popular place for politians and local elite as well as the average cowhand.

best hotdogs: coits great red dogs with greasy schwabs chili thinnly sliced onions. oklahoma version of what a hotdog should be.
