h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Today the festival opened for real. Unlike previous years it had a collective start, because of the accident last year. At 5.15 pm festival spokesperson Leif Skov bade welcome from the Orange Stage. "This festival opening is about honouring and remembering nine young people who were with us last year. It's about taking care of and supporting each other - making room and atmosphere for a good experience", he said. After the speech the Danish composer and trumpet player Palle Mikkelborg played, and a memorial site for the nine young men was presented. It consist of nine trees planted in a circle. Between the trees are nine stones for contemplation and in the centre a rock with the inscription "How fragile we are".

And then the music began. Here's what I heard:
A bit of Deftones at the Orange Stage, a bit of ...erm... must have been... Lucien Foort at White , and some of The Hives at Yellow. Most of Placebo's concert at Green, a bit of Wyclef Jean at Orange, and some of Tahiti 80 at Yellow. Most of Tim Christensen's concert at Green, a little bit of Tool at Orange, and quite a bit of Africando at the Ballroom Stage. Too much? Yes, maybe... But I love it!
Best concert tonight?
Probably Placebo, even though I don't like Brian Molkos voice very much.
Tim Christensen played his old Dizzy Mizz Lizzy tune "Silverflame" with Kashmir's Kasper Eistrup as guest guitarist. Wow!
And to end the evening with salsa is always good!
I still haven't told about the beer, "Mor Toves æbleskiver", the good weather(!) and the general ...
Well, we'll see if I do that tomorrow. Probably not!
